Kathy White - Kathy White School of Dance

Dance instructor, Kathy White is a qualified life member of the B.A.T.D. and Scotdance Canada and has been teaching in the Cowichan Valley since 1978. She received her dance training from Adeline Duncan School in Victoria. Through hard work, vigorous training and dedication, Kathy has earned many titles including Scottish National Dance Champion at Expo ’86, City of Roses Challenge Shield for best adult sword dance in Portland, Oregon and the Adult Highland and National Dance Champion at the Edinburgh Festival of Dance in Scotland.
Students from the school participate in competitions throughout Canada, USA and Scotland. They also participate in the Victoria Performing Arts Festival, Cowichan Music Festival (have performed in Highlights Concert every year since 1981), 5.6.7.8 Showtime (won 1997 Performance of the Year), Duncan/Cowichan Summer Festivals, Robbie Burns Celebrations, Mill Bay Days, Cobble Hill Fair, Ladysmith Days, Nursing Homes, Telethons and many other community events.
The school also offers B.A.T.D. exams annually, the opportunity to travel and special performances.
